Dr. Kashan
Dr. Kashan has 35 years of experience in treating all kinds of foot problems. He has taken countless courses to keep abreast of the many changes in foot care, so you get the latest proven techniques available.
Dr. Brian Kashan, is the founder of Plaza Podiatry. He was born in New York City and lived there for 25 years.
Dr. Kashan graduated Cum Laude from Queens College in Flushing New York in 1977. He then attended the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, from where he graduated Cum Laude in 1981.
Dr. Kashan did his Podiatric surgical training in Maryland at Bon Secours Hospital. In addition, his rotations included University Hospital, Maryland General Hospital, and Springfield State Hospital. Dr. Kashan was fortunate to have been trained by some of the most noted and respected podiatrists in the State of Maryland.
Dr. Kashan began his practice in 1982 in Baltimore. Dr. Kashan became involved in the teaching of Podiatric residents at several area hospitals. He is responsible for having helped train many of the podiatrists in our region.
Dr. Kashan became Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in 1988. He then became a Fellow in the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He continued serving his profession by serving on numerous committees in his professional association, the Maryland Podiatric Medical Association. He has over eight years of service holding various positions within the Association.
After serving on the Board and on several Committees within the Association, Dr. Kashan was appointed to the State Board of Podiatric Medicine, by Governor Glendening for a 4-year term. He was then reappointed by Governor Erlich for an additional four-year term. During that time, Dr. Kashan served as President of the State Board twice.
In addition to his professional service, Dr. Kashan is a member of the American Diabetic Association and American Society of Wound Care Specialists. He was also appointed to the National Physician Rehabilitation Committee for podiatry in 2006.
Throughout his professional career, Dr. Kashan has furthered his education by taking special training courses and seminars. He took certifying courses in the in Laser Surgery, Wound Care, Endoscopic Foot Surgery, and Extra Corporal Shock Wave Therapy for heel pain.
Dr. Kashan has lectured on numerous occasions at professional educational seminars. He has been a featured speaker of the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association at their annual seminar since 2000. He also was a speaker for Novartis Pharmaceutical Company and has lectured physicians in Maryland in this capacity on numerous occasions.
Dr. Kashan has maintained his practice philosophy of individual care and attention to this patients. He focuses on the particular needs of a particular patient, rather than lumping all patients into the same category. He believes that what is good for one patient may not be good for another patient. Individualized patient treatment plans are a main focus of the practice.

Dr. Carter
Dr. Chanelle Carter has experience with the most up to date and innovative treatments in podiatry. She has taken countless courses and continuing medical education seminars to keep abreast of the continually evolving practices and techniques in modern medicine. She specializes in foot surgery, reconstructive foot surgery, diabetic limb salvage/wound care, and sports medicine.
Dr. Carter, a native of Columbia, Maryland, graduated from Howard High School in Ellicott City where she played Varsity Basketball and Volleyball. After which, she earned a full basketball scholarship at Delaware State University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2001 majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She also concurrently served as a premiere Student Athletic Trainer.
Following college, Dr. Carter attended Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine (TUSPM), in Philadelphia Pennsylvania where she graduated at the top of her class in 2005. Three years later in 2008, she completed her surgical residency at MedStar Washington Hospital Center; the only level 1 trauma center, in Washington DC. During her 3 year residency, she gained extensive training in foot and ankle surgery, diabetic limb salvage, trauma surgery, elective forefoot and rear foot reconstruction, sports medicine, management of extensive medical pathologies. She also rotated at Georgetown University Limb Salvage Center, Union Memorial Foot and Ankle Orthopedics, Children’s National Medical Center, and Roy Lester Schneider Hospital in the Virgin Islands, performing podiatric and general surgery.
Dr. Carter has been in private practice since 2005 and in 2013 became Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.
She remains the team podiatrist for the DC Divas Women’s Professional Tackle Football Team, in Washington DC. She has been working with the team since 2006 and has a significant interest in sports medicine.
Dr. Carter is very active in the community and has participated in lectures at numerous health fairs, foot screenings, and seminars. She is also a mentoring physician at her Alma Mater, TUSPM. In 2009, Dr. Carter appeared on WBAL-TV Channel 11 News for a segment on Back To School Shoe Shopping Tips.
Dr . Chanelle Carter is a passionate and dedicated physician and surgeon who believes in individualized patient treatment and comprehensive care. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as traveling, sports, movies, music, and fine dining.

Dr. Nwosu
Dr. Nwosu received his undergraduate education in biology at Towson University in Towson, Maryland and attended medical school at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. During that time, Dr. Nwosu worked as a data collector at USMA West Point Boot Fit in West Point, New York, and was a medical volunteer at the Lake Placid Iron Man in 2011, and the New York City Marathon in 2014.
Dr. Nwosu was also a member of the Student National Podiatric Medical Association and a Student Member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. After graduating in 2015, he completed a three-year Podiatric residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey, where he served as chief resident.
